Snow Only

Snow only was the brainchild of our client, Mark, based on his experience in real estate and his love for skiing. When our team heard about this project, we were super excited. It was niche, fun and a welcome challenge.

Mark wanted an experience that was entirely relevant to people wanting to rent and buy properties around ski slopes.

Challenge accepted!

We suggested doing some user research. In doing so, we learnt a lot about what people really care about. It’s not the number of rooms, it’s not the facilities…it’s the distance to the club house and ski lift!

Our team started with the brand design and the online magic followed.

The brand design was very strong and we wanted to use some high-energy illustrations to work with the stunning photography. The idea to utilize a rotating globe to tell the story of someone flying from a boring city to the stunning slopes was something we worked hard on.

It turned out really well! Even though it was a headache our awesome designer and the great development team at Snow Only made it happen.

Originally we wanted to animate the plane taking off, landing near the slopes and then someone skiing down the slope and repeating. Turns out that was a little too hard to do in the time we had and the developer opted for a simple flying animation with the earth spinning below it. The effect is still visually stunning but it was easier for the developers at SnowOnly to realise.

All the design is hand-drawn by our amazing designer. She did such a fantastic job and put in a lot of extra hours to make it happen. The site won a few design awards and has been featured in a design ideas book. We are super proud of this project and look forward to helping you with a similar project.

Smart Design for User Interface Experience

We wanted to build a website that communicated the same excitement and energy that our client had, when talking about skiing and real estate. This was definitely one of our favourite projects.

Our approach

Main phases from user research right through to putting the site live.

Designing an effective user interface system begins for us with understanding the user.

This is where the ideas and concepts really take shape. By sketching out a basic visual representation of the system, its flow patterns can then be tested and refined before moving to the next level.

In the final step before handing over to the designers, we add colors and images to the wireframe to create paper prototypes that can then be developed and tested on HTML pages.

Once a concept is approved for further development, we begin to design the interface so that we can begin to see what the user will see. To enhance this step, we employ our Pixel Perfect concept.
